Emeralds for Autumn

Here in the workshop Disa has been working on some stunning new rings for Autumn. Particularly mesmerising are the Emeralds she has sourced and we thought we would like to feature them on this months blog post.

Emeralds are part of the Beryl family, along with aquamarines and morganites. What differentiates them is the presence of chromium resulting in the rich green colour unique to emeralds. They are a rare stone due to the highly specific conditions needed to make them over thousands of years and sit at 7.5 – 8 on the Mohs scale of hardness. Despite this they can be fragile and need to be worn with care! All emeralds have inclusions, unique markings within the stone that occur during their natural growth in the ground. This makes each stone unique.

Disa has been creating one off wide gold reticulated bands to create a rich setting for the wonderful examples she has sourced. We have one available on the Online Shop and also a stunning piece included in a fresh delivery of work at Dover Street Market, London.

If you would like any information on these pieces do get in touch anytime by either emailing disa.allsopp@gmail.com or via the Contact Page.

Enjoy the Autumn wherever you are, Fall for our friends across the water!
