Disa goes digital with Goldsmiths’ Fair! Posted on July 15, 2020 This Autumn Goldsmiths’ Fair goes digital! Disa has been honoured to have been a regular exhibitor at Goldsmiths’ Fair for the past few years. One of the highlights of the UK Jewellery industry’s calender, Goldsmiths’ Fair has been welcoming collectors of fine jewellery through it’s doors since 1982. This year will see the launch of it’s online platform to support business recovery for sole traders and microbusinesses who are making and creating in the UK today. It has never been a more important time to support our vibrant and creative industry and to promote the skills and techniques, handed down over centuries, of our maker community. Richard Fox, Prime Warden (Chairman-equivalent) of the Goldsmiths’ Company, comments, ”At the Goldsmiths’ Company we are committed to supporting our craft and trade for the long term, as we have done for the last seven centuries through some of the worst crises in our history.” And 2020 is no different as the Goldsmiths’ Company will be representing 130 designer makers based in the UK. Double Cornflower Sapphire Ring Harriet Scott, Head of Events at the Goldsmiths’ Company who curates and manages the Fair, says: “Our exhibitors are a selection of the best fine jewellers and contemporary silversmiths creating and making in the UK today. We will be supporting our maker community through their own digital journey and helping to future-proof their businesses during a period when the industry needs our backing more than ever. Creativity will always be one of the most powerful and inspirational responses to a crisis and this will be reflected in the unique, contemporary handcrafted jewellery and silver that will be available exclusively to visitors to the online Fair this September.” Disa is looking forward to sharing her new work with you through Goldsmiths’ Fair Online – we will keep you posted via social media as things progress. The Fair will open its virtual doors from 24 September – 6 October 2020. We love displaying the jewellery in the sunny studio, chilling the champagne and preparing the nibbles! As plans have changed through the current crisis we have been adapting as best we can and hope you will enjoy viewing Disa’s work in a safe and accessible way. We have been adding new work regularly to Disa’s Web-shop. As well as the stunning 18k gold textural pieces with gemstones and diamonds, we have also been spending time updating the silver work on offer online. This includes some great new textural earrings and rings that Disa has designed with everyday wear in mind. The Open Studio is usually an opportunity to see a huge range of Disa’s work, past and present, and we will be representing this over the coming weeks with the work we add to the Web-shop. So do keep checking in to see what has been added each week. If you use social media, you may have seen Disa on a few different accounts of late! Last week she was interviewed live on Instagram TV by Toronto based Rue Pigalle. Discussing her inspirations, processes and special commissions, it was a really lively conversation where people could put forward their own questions to Disa. She has also been featured in an article by Rachel Garrahan, Jewellery Director for British Vogue. If you would like to hear more about these events before they happen then follow Disa on Instagram and Facebook where Disa herself posts updates, news and work finished hot off the bench! If you have ideas for commissions or want to discuss purchasing a piece directly then Disa is always available via her Contact Page. She is also able to give you a virtual viewing of work via Zoom should you wish to talk face to face! In addition to this we are happy to announce that Disa is now able to arrange meetings in the studio by appointment for one person at a time. Disa will provide hand sanitiser on arrival and a clean safe space to show the collection and discuss your ideas. Thank you for reading about how we are doing our best to keep you abreast of Disa’s work through this difficult time. Posted on March 22, 2019 We have begun adding some stunning new rings to Disa’s online shop. With the Spaghetti rings doing so well Disa thought it about time to add the fresh gemstone 18k gold rings to the Shop too! They differ to the Spaghetti rings in that the gemstone rings are one off pieces so once they are gone they are gone! Disa can resize to your specifications so when ordering, select your finger size and she will do the rest. Pictured is a stunning blue tourmaline baguette, 18k gold organic texture ring. The baguette cut is on trend and means you can look in to the stone and see all its unique inclusions that make it a one off piece. Disa’s signature melted, organic texture creates a warm contrast of colour and adds tactility. Any questions do get in touch by emailing email@example.com or through the Contact page. Raspberry Rhodolite Garnet Ring Featured on Disa Allsopp 1st Dibs Online Store Posted on February 22, 2019 When Disa saw this Rhodolite Garnet on a stone sourcing trip to Kenya she fell in love with its warm flashes of raspberry, fuschia and scarlet. Beautifully cut to reflect and refract light, Disa has framed it in a tapered 18k yellow gold rubover setting. Sitting on one of her signature organic texture 18k gold bands this ring would make a fabulous engagement ring, or a meaningful gift for an anniversary or birthday. Disa has been working with the online shopping experience 1st Dibs for a year now. 1st Dibs showcases high end design and provides a platform for independent designers and boutiques around the world. Have a look at the site if in need of anything from furniture to fashion. We have put the new 18k gold rhodolite garnet ring on Disa’s 1st Dibs store and invite you to view the stunning images and imagine yourself wearing this one off piece. It really is a unique stone and we can’t wait to send it to it’s new home!
