Disa’s Alternative Summer Studio 2020 Posted on June 24, 2020June 24, 2020 We were so looking forward to Disa’s Summer Open Studio this weekend. We love displaying the jewellery in the sunny studio, chilling the champagne and preparing the nibbles! As plans have changed through the current crisis we have been adapting as best we can and hope you will enjoy viewing Disa’s work in a safe and accessible way. We have been adding new work regularly to Disa’s Web-shop. As well as the stunning 18k gold textural pieces with gemstones and diamonds, we have also been spending time updating the silver work on offer online. This includes some great new textural earrings and rings that Disa has designed with everyday wear in mind. The Open Studio is usually an opportunity to see a huge range of Disa’s work, past and present, and we will be representing this over the coming weeks with the work we add to the Web-shop. So do keep checking in to see what has been added each week.If you use social media, you may have seen Disa on a few different accounts of late! Last week she was interviewed live on Instagram TV by Toronto based Rue Pigalle. Discussing her inspirations, processes and special commissions, it was a really lively conversation where people could put forward their own questions to Disa. She has also been featured in an article by Rachel Garrahan, Jewellery Director for British Vogue. If you would like to hear more about these events before they happen then follow Disa on Instagram and Facebook where Disa herself posts updates, news and work finished hot off the bench! If you have ideas for commissions or want to discuss purchasing a piece directly then Disa is always available via her Contact Page. She is also able to give you a virtual viewing of work via Zoom should you wish to talk face to face!In addition to this we are happy to announce that Disa is now able to arrange meetings in the studio by appointment for one person at a time. Disa will provide hand sanitiser on arrival and a clean safe space to show the collection and discuss your ideas.Thank you for reading about how we are doing our best to keep you abreast of Disa’s work through this difficult time. We appreciate your ongoing support and hope we can welcome you with a glass of champagne in the Autumn! Not so a commission by Disa Allsopp! Disa has years of experience working with clients to create a piece unique them. The process most often begins with a visit to Disa in her London studio to discuss the options. Often, from looking at her current collections, a decision can be made about the design in this initial meeting. If more time is needed to develop the design, this is the point measurements are taken, ideas are discussed and from there Disa can source stones, create mock ups, sketch out ideas, whatever is needed to move the process on. Testimonials from past clients describe commissioning bespoke work from Disa as ‘revitalisation by a brilliant designer’, and creating work that becomes ‘unquestionably my favourite piece of jewellery’. If you have an idea that you would like to discuss with Disa, get in touch either through our contact page or by emailing disa.allsopp@gmail.com Below a recent commissioned piece, 18k yellow reticulated gold, with three aquamarines flush set in to the chunky band. Disa loved making this piece, saying ‘The textures in this ring frame the watery aquamarines beautifully. The client just loved it, and I enjoyed working on such a substantial ring.’
