Disa’s bespoke service gives clients an opportunity to commission a special piece unique to them. Disa is hands on in the commissioning process working closely with clients on custom pieces for many occasions including weddings, anniversaries or for clients simply wanting to treat themselves.

Disa is an expert at working with recycled metals and at working with old pieces of jewellery. These can be updated or redesigned using existing gemstones or metal. Please note that when reusing clients metal or gems, these have to be tested and often a higher carat gold is added to keep the gold to a high standard.

How we work

1. Firstly Disa will discuss with you your requirements, coming up with ideas and options for the piece, this can be done either by email, phone or video call

2. After the initial discussion, Disa will meet with you to provide you with a set of drawings and show you samples as to how the piece will look. In this meeting a decision will be made on the final design to be taken forward

3. We will then provide you with a quote along with an estimated lead time for delivery. Disa will start working on your piece once the quote is agreed and payment is taken.

On this page you can see some examples of bespoke work that clients have commissioned.

Testimonials

“I have bought and enjoyed many pieces from Disa over the past 20 years. One piece, which I wear every day, is a bespoke anniversary/wedding ring. Both contemporary and medieval in feeling, it is unquestionably my favourite piece of jewellery.”

Yola

“Disa designed three silver/gold pieces using diamonds inherited from my mother. They are stunning – and they are frequently admired.  Each piece complements my personality and I wear one or other almost daily – my delight is enhanced by the sparkling reminder of my lovely parents.”

About Disa

Disa was born in London and grew up in Barbados. This special island really influenced her jewellery designs, visible in her use of colourful gemstones. Disa personally selects each stone such as golden citrines, warm garnets, rubies, sapphires and morganites.

White and coloured diamonds are set on unique bands while rough and rare cut gemstones make Disa’s work contemporary and current maintaining a timeless charm.

Disa exhibits internationally with stockists throughout the UK, United States, Japan and France. She exhibits at selected retail and trade shows as well as welcoming private clients by appointment to her London Studio.

Sustainability

Sustainability and the ethical journey of materials are an important and integral part of Disa’s practice.

Every year Disa travels to Kenya to source the majority of her gemstones. During these trips Disa visits a local gemstone supplier that she has worked with over the years.

Many of the gemstones sourced are originally from Kenya and East Africa. These beautiful Kenyan gemstones include tourmalines, sapphires, garnets, peridots and aquamarines.

All diamonds are gathered through ethical sources and diamond certificates can be provided on request.

A large percentage of the metal Disa uses to create her jewellery is recycled gold and silver. Disa has built up a reputation as a skilled jeweller when working with the sometimes unpredictable metals. The majority of the metal used is sourced from the heart of the jewellery district in Central London. Disa also frequently reworks clients’ sentimental gold and silver. Hallmarking is an integral part of the work to certify the precious metals used. All of the jewellery is handmade in Disa’s London studio.
