Disa goes digital with Goldsmiths’ Fair!

This Autumn Goldsmiths’ Fair goes digital! Disa has been honoured to have been a regular exhibitor at Goldsmiths’ Fair for the past few years. One of the highlights of the UK Jewellery industry’s calender, Goldsmiths’ Fair has been welcoming collectors of fine jewellery through it’s doors since 1982. This year will see the launch of it’s online platform to support business recovery for sole traders and microbusinesses who are making and creating in the UK today.

It has never been a more important time to support our vibrant and creative industry and to promote the skills and techniques, handed down over centuries, of our maker community.

Richard Fox, Prime Warden (Chairman-equivalent) of the Goldsmiths’ Company, comments, ”At the Goldsmiths’ Company we are committed to supporting our craft and trade for the long term, as we have done for the last seven centuries through some of the worst crises in our history.”

And 2020 is no different as the Goldsmiths’ Company will be representing 130 designer makers based in the UK.

Harriet Scott, Head of Events at the Goldsmiths’ Company who curates and manages the Fair, says: “Our exhibitors are a selection of the best fine jewellers and contemporary silversmiths creating and making in the UK today. We will be supporting our maker community through their own digital journey and helping to future-proof their businesses during a period when the industry needs our backing more than ever. Creativity will always be one of the most powerful and inspirational responses to a crisis and this will be reflected in the unique, contemporary handcrafted jewellery and silver that will be available exclusively to visitors to the online Fair this September.”

We are very excited to be taking part in RE:FINE in The Store at MAD, New York this Spring! Opening on 9th May 2019, RE:FINE is a highly curated show bringing together 18 international artists. The Store at MAD champions artists who are at the forefront of design and craftsmanship, building on the Museum of Art & Design’s mission to promote the work of designers over all creative fields.
